WBA’s 75th anniversary opportunity to look to future

In the News People

Your WBA’s celebration of our 75th anniversary was on full display at our Awards Gala on May 2. The theme of Diamond Jubilee was a huge hit, and is a wonderful lead into our WBA Summer Conference celebration June 17-18 at the beautiful Grand Geneva Resort. You can find the full agenda here.

You can also find the full list of WBA Award winners here.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who came to the reception to celebrate the new location for our WBA Hall of Fame at the Hilton Milwaukee. It was a memorable gathering of Hall of Famers and friends of Wisconsin broadcasters.

Please be sure to drop in to see the Hall of Fame if you’re in downtown Milwaukee. It’s something all Wisconsin broadcasters should be proud of.  We know many of you are running the new promotional spots we recently shared. We thank you for that! Just let us know if you need the spots as we are more than happy to accommodate.

Your WBA was invited to meet with a group of journalists from around the world who were in Wisconsin with the U.S. State Department to learn about journalism in the U.S. Thank you to Anna Engelhart and Caroline Bach from Allen Media and Max Lenz from Godfrey & Kahn for sharing your insights with the group. We also learned a lot from this curious and engaged cohort of international journalists.

Your WBA Board of Directors is using the occasion of the WBA’s 75th anniversary to talk about the future of broadcasting and of your WBA. The board met in April for two days of strategic planning. The energy in the room was palpable. Board members were engaged in thoughtful conversations that will help chart a course of action for your WBA over the next several years. You’ll be seeing the results of those meetings soon. Please know that your WBA will be focused more than ever on helping your service to Wisconsin’s local communities.
