The Wisconsin Broadcasters Association has excellent opportunities for your advertising and public relations efforts to reach radio and television station owners and managers. Government agencies and non-profit organizations can take advantage of the NCSA/PEP program to affordably broadcast public service announcements via participating Wisconsin radio and television stations.
Reach Wisconsin’s Broadcasters
Since 1951, the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association is the only trade association which supports, promotes and represents all radio and television broadcasters in Wisconsin. The WBA’s membership is comprised of 95 percent of all radio and televisions stations in Wisconsin, as well as associate member companies who provide services to the state’s broadcasting industry.
The Wisconsin Broadcaster, is sent bi-monthly to all our broadcast, associate and retired members. The newsletter is also distributed to members of the Wisconsin State Legislature and to the WI congressional delegation in Washington, DC.

Publicity News Release Distribution
The Wisconsin Broadcasters Association (WBA) can be your single point of contact for working with the radio and television stations throughout the state of Wisconsin. We make working with more than 300 member stations simple by offering services that will make your job easier. Whether you are looking to distribute news about your business or organization or advertise goods and services, the WBA can offer you a service to make you more effective.
Public Service Announcements
Government agencies and non-profit organizations that normally approach radio or television broadcasters for Public Service Time request a Non Commercial Sustaining Announcement/Public Education Program (NCSA/PEP) program. Your announcements are distributed to participating stations. NCSA/PEP provides a win-win result for participating WBA members whose Association grows stronger and for your organization whose message is seen and heard statewide in all time periods and formats, reaching all demographic groups. A social media component of PEP allows sponsors to broaden the reach of their social media messages by leveraging the fan base of WBA member stations. Selected television and radio stations participate in the social media component to share a PEP sponsor’s message via Facebook and/or Twitter on a weekly basis. The “halo effect” of a trusted source sharing these messages increases engagement and clicks.
If you have question about the NCSA/PEP or are interested in participating, contact the WBA Office at 800-236-1922 and ask to speak with Michelle Vetterkind or email her at firstname.lastname@example.org
Public Service Announcement Guidebook
WBA Public Service Announcement (PSA) Guidebook
The purpose of this Guide is to show Wisconsin non-profit organizations the best way to prepare your requests so that you increase your chances for getting on air. Radio and television stations across Wisconsin contributed $270 million to their communities through fund-raising efforts and donations of air-time for Public Service Announcements during 2005, according to a quantitative survey conducted by the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association, along with the National Association of Broadcasters. Support for local community events and service clubs is an integral part of every local over-the-air broadcaster’s service to their communities.
