May LZ Lambeau™ Event Will Welcome Home Wisconsin’s Vietnam Veterans
PSAs Available To All Broadcasters
By Michael Bridgeman, WI Public Television
A wide-reaching statewide effort to honor Wisconsin Vietnam War veterans will culminate in a weekend of recognition and celebration of their service and sacrifice. Veterans, friends, families and others are invited to attend LZ Lambeau™: Welcoming Home Wisconsin’s Vietnam Veterans from May 21 through 23. The event will include The Moving Wall™, military-vehicle displays, reunions, exhibits and a Saturday-night keystone event inside Lambeau Field in Green Bay.
Named for the landing zones to which Vietnam veterans were often deployed and inspired by the interviews with Vietnam veterans from the forthcoming “Wisconsin Vietnam War Stories” documentary project, LZ Lambeau is a partnership of the Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs, Wisconsin Historical Society and Wisconsin Public Television (WPT), along with an extensive group of veterans organizations statewide.

In 2006, the estate of William R. Walker graciously donated funds to endow the WBA Foundation Management Institute. The gift is the largest single contribution ever received by the Foundation. The schedule is set for the Walker Broadcast Management Institute, scheduled for May 11-13, 2010 at the UW-School of Business on the Madison campus. With the early bird deadline of March 26, and room for only 35 attendees, broadcasters are urged to call the WBA office for reservations as soon as possible.
Fees for the Management Institute are once again being offered at an affordable $595 per person ($525 before March 26th) and $400 for all those over three from one company. The fees include sessions, meals during the day, two evening dinners and all three nights’ lodging.
The Walker Broadcast Management Institute (formerly the WBA Foundation Management Institute) is now in its 13th year. It completed its fourth 3-year management education cycle in 2009. The 2010 Institute will begin a new 3-year cycle. The Management Institute is designed for broadcast managers and those seeking or being prepared for broadcast management positions.
