Woodward Communications Inc. (WCI) has agreed to acquire seven radio station brands from Neuhoff Media in Springfield and Bloomington, Illinois.

The company said the brands align with WCI’s focus on local community media properties in certain market sizes that serve niche and lifestyle audiences.

“They expand WCI’s footprint in Illinois and bring experienced teams and talent to the employee-owned company,” the release stated.

The additions in Springfield include country music station 104.5 WFMB, Sports Radio 92.3FM and 1450AM, adult contemporary station 99-7 The Mix, adult hits station 96.7 BOB FM, and Channel 1450, a digital platform covering high school sports.

In Bloomington, WCI adds Rock 96.7, adult contemporary NOW 100.7, and BOB FM 97.9.

“We are excited to welcome these exceptional brands into the WCI family,” said Tom Woodward, CEO and President of WCI. “They are a great fit with our culture and dedication to serving local communities. We look forward to collaborating with a very talented and engaged team to continue delivering top-quality programming and service.”

Pending FCC approval, WCI anticipates officially completing the acquisition and integrating these outstanding stations into the Woodward Community Media division. Greg Guy of Tideline Partners advised WCI on this transaction.

WCI owns eight radio stations in the Appleton and Green Bay markets.
