Your WBA was in Washington D.C. this week, along with broadcasters representing 30 other states, to call on Congress to pass the AM Radio for Every Vehicle Act.
The bills in both houses of Congress have overwhelming bipartisan support. The House bill has more than 300 cosponsors and the Senate bill has 60 cosponsors.
Broadcasters were asking lawmakers to work with Congressional leadership to get the bill onto the floor for a vote. Given the number of bipartisan cosponsors on the bill, it is believed that the bill would easily pass both houses.
The AM Radio in Every Vehicle Act would require passenger vehicles sold in the United States to include access to AM radio as a critical safety feature.
Broadcasters were joined on the Hill this week by representatives of farmers, emergency managers, firefighters, and AARP in support of the bill.
Your WBA was represented by Board Chair Elect Randy Hawke from Mid-West Family in Madison and WBA Vice President Kyle Geissler.
