The WBA has joined forces with a diverse group of 31 trade and business associations with the common goal of repealing Wisconsin’s personal property tax. The “Coalition to Repeal Wisconsin’s Personal Property Tax” consists of organizations representing more than 400,000 Wisconsin businesses employing over a million employees, as well as thousands of individual taxpayers across the state.
The personal property tax (PPT) is a tax imposed on “tangible” personal property, such as equipment and furniture, owned by a business. Over the years, the State Legislature has whittled away at the PPT, arbitrarily picking winners and losers by exempting specific equipment.
