Wisconsin’s radio and TV stations submitted 1,322 entries to the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association Awards for Excellence contest. The submission deadline for the 2025 awards was Friday. A total of 108 stations submitted entries.

“The competition for this year’s WBA Awards for Excellence shows everyone the value that Wisconsin’s broadcasters bring to serving their local communities,” WBA President and CEO Michelle Vetterkind said. “We’re excited to celebrate their  incredible work, at the same time as our WBA’s 75th anniversary, at the Awards Gala on May 2.”

Stations are competing for awards in numerous categories for news, sports, weather, advertising, public service, and digital and social media. Stations are also competing for Station of the Year and News Operation of the Year awards that are determined based on points earned by winning awards in other categories.

The awards will be handed out at the WBA Awards Gala on May 2 at the Madison Marriott West. The theme is “Diamond Jubilee” in celebration of the WBA’s 75th anniversary. Registration is available here.

The WBA Student Awards for Excellence also closed on Friday with 378 entries. Entries were received from 15 colleges/universities and nine high schools across Wisconsin.
