A growing number of Wisconsin’s radio and TV stations submitted entries to the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association Awards for Excellence contest.

The submission deadline for the 2024 awards was Friday night. A total of 125 stations submitted entries, up from 120 the previous year.

A total of 1,493 entries were submitted.

“Wisconsin broadcasters have a lot to be proud of in the work they did in 2024 and we’re confident the hundreds of entries submitted this year will reflect that,” WBA President and CEO Michelle Vetterkind said. “We can’t wait to celebrate our members’ award-winning work when hold our gala in May.”

Stations are competing for awards in numerous categories for news, sports, weather, advertising, public service, and digital and social media. Stations are also competing for Station of the Year and News Operation of the Year awards that are determined based on points earned by winning awards in other categories.

The awards will be handed out at the WBA Awards Gala on May 3 at the Madison Marriott West. The theme is “Masquerade Ball.” Registration is available here.

The WBA Student Awards for Excellence also closed on Friday with 386 entries, more than 100 more than the previous year. Entries were received from 15 colleges/universities and 11 high schools across Wisconsin.
