Eau Claire station starts broadcasts from new studio

Eau Claire radio station Greatest Hits 98.1 (WISM) recently switched to a new studio.

Mid-West Family Eau Claire said the new studio’s space has a long history with the company. The former WDRK-FM 99.9 was in that studio, from shortly after it signed on in 2001 until about 2009. It then swapped studios with WECL-FM, and soon after flipped formats from The Carp (active rock) to Bob FM (adult hits). Four years later, it became more of a classic hits station. In 2026, there was a multi-owner frequency flip in which WDRK 99.9 was donated to UW-Eau Claire and the company then acquired WISM 98.1 from iHeartMedia. Greatest Hits 98.1 was then born and is now in the 2000s-era WDRK studio.

John Murphy and Luc Anthony went live in the studio for its first broadcast on Tuesday.
