55-year radio veteran remembered for radio ministry

Fifty-five-year radio veteran Harlan Reinders died Feb. 15. He was 85.

According to his obituary, Reinders started his broadcasting career in 1968 in San Diego, California. He moved to Wisconsin in 1972 to join WWIB-FM in the Chippewa Valley. He worked as chief engineer and on-air personality for WWIB-FM and WOGO-AM, and started his own station, WHEM-FM, in 1995. He remained station manager and chief engineer at WHEM until his death.

A celebration of lief was held on March 1 in Lake Hallie.
