This week’s Weekly Radio Addresses from Wisconsin’s Capitol are about June Dairy Month, and Wisconsin tourism. These addresses are available for Wisconsin broadcasters to use as they see fit. Here are the summaries from WisPolitics:
— In this week’s , Rep. Jeff Mursau recognizes June as Dairy Month, honoring Wisconsin dairy farmers and noting their contributions to the state’s economy, culture and identity.
“For Wisconsin, Dairy Month is more than just celebration — it’s a reminder of the economic and social importance of agriculture. The dairy industry supports tens of thousands of jobs, from rural farms to processing plants and retail markets,” the Crivitz Republican says.
Mursau notes that Wisconsin is known as “America’s Dairyland” and highlights the state as a leader in the industry, specifically in cheese production, across the nation, and ranking high overall in dairy output.
“With increasing attention on local food sources and sustainable agriculture, Dairy Month also highlights Wisconsin’s leadership in innovation and stewardship within the dairy sector, ensuring that its legacy continues for future generations,” he says.
— In this week’s , Gov. Tony Evers celebrates the impact of Wisconsin’s travel and tourism industry, which broke records last year.
Evers said the industry accumulated $25.8 billion and brought in a high of 114.4 million visits to the state.
“That’s money that goes right back into our state and our communities,” Evers says. “That’s a big deal.”
Further, Evers says he was proud to have made investments in supporting the state’s tourism industry. He lists his administration’s creation of the Office of Outdoor Recreation, bolstering of building projects and backing of marketing efforts at the Department of Tourism as successes.
He says he plans to continue this support through the 2026-27 state budget.
“I’m committed to building on this work in our next state budget to ensure our state’s tourism industry continues to grow and thrive. Because we’ve seen what’s possible when we invest in this critical industry. Because at the end of the day, it’s the hardworking folks in the industry that make record-breaking years happen,” Evers says.
