This week’s Weekly Radio Addresses from Wisconsin’s Capitol are about voting and apprenticeships. These addresses are available for Wisconsin broadcasters to use as they see fit. Here are the summaries from WisPolitics:
— In this week’s GOP radio address, Sen. Eric Wimberger promotes constitutional amendments related to voting.
The Green Bay Republican says that two resolutions have been approved by the Assembly and the Senate that will now go to voters for referendum.
The first would ban the use of private funds in elections, and the second would clarify that only U.S. citizens over the age of 18 can vote in federal, state and local elections. Wimberger says the measures are meant to ensure Wisconsin’s election integrity.
He adds legislative attempts to address election integrity have been blocked by gubernatorial veto, so “we’re putting the choice into your hands.”
“Wisconsin’s status as a swing state makes election integrity measures important locally, nationally, and internationally,” says Wimberger.

— In this week’s Dem radio address, Gov. Tony Evers celebrates Wisconsin’s apprenticeship programs.
The Dem guv says that the number of people in the registered and youth apprenticeship programs in Wisconsin has exceeded 16,000, breaking last year’s 20-year high.
Apprenticeship programs contain pathways to jobs in, among other fields, health care, manufacturing and construction. Evers says the strength of these programs has made him optimistic about facing workforce challenges in Wisconsin.
“Folks, our state has faced significant workforce challenges for years,” Evers says. “We must do everything we can to recruit, train and retain the next generation of workers.”
