— In this week’s Dem radio address, Gov. Tony Evers says that starting this week, Wisconsinites will no longer see sales taxes on utility bills, due to the 2025-27 biennial budget he signed. 

“While families and communities face devastating cuts to federal programs, including basic needs programs like Medicaid and food security programs, and efforts to gut tax credits that make everyday costs like health care and household utilities more affordable, here in Wisconsin, we’re working to lower costs for working families and give folks a little extra breathing room in their household budgets,” the Dem guv says.

— In this week’s GOP radio address, Rep. Dave Armstrong highlights his housing package, which aims to increase eligibility and transparency for the state’s affordable housing tax credit program.

The Rice Lake Republican says the bill addresses Wisconsin’s affordable housing shortage by providing an updated definition of “qualified development.” He said this definition increases eligibility for housing projects and provides clear standards for how credits may be allocated.Read the full story.
