This week’s Weekly Radio Addresses from Wisconsin’s Capitol discuss the recent State Supreme Court election results and the NFL Draft coming to Green Bay. These addresses are available for Wisconsin broadcasters to use as they see fit. Here are the summaries from WisPolitics:
– In this week’s , Rep. Brent Jacobson expresses disappointment in the Supreme Court election results.
The Mosinee Republican says he’s concerned about how the Supreme Court will vote on critical issues like “voting rights, abortion laws, the repeal of Act 10, and election laws.” Jacobson says he is worried that Justice-elect Susan Crawford’s liberal lean will “get in the way of her duties as a Supreme Court judge.”
He says the results of the April election could have “long-lasting effects on the state’s judicial landscape, influencing everything from electoral policies to public health decisions.”
“I hope I am wrong about my assumptions on the future of our Supreme Court, I just don’t think I am,” he says.
— In this week’s , Gov. Tony Evers celebrates the upcoming 2025 NFL draft in Green Bay.
“Hosting the draft is a win-win-win for our state. It’s a win for the players and for the fans, and a win for all the folks that will be coming to our door to see what we’re all about,” the Dem governor says. “The draft is an outstanding opportunity to showcase everything Wisconsin and Titletown have to offer, and on a global stage.”
Evers says he worked to secure $2 million in the last state budget to support marketing efforts to promote Wisconsin and Green Bay, and touts the creation of a new Opportunity Attraction and Promotion Fund to bring large events to the state.
“So whether you’re watching at home or making your way to Lambeau, welcome to Wisconsin, Football Fans. We are happy to have you here,” Evers says.
