Weekly Addresses

This week’s Weekly Radio Addresses from Wisconsin’s Capitol discuss grants for coastal communities and the RNC in Milwaukee. These addresses are available for Wisconsin broadcasters to use as they see fit. Here are the summaries from WisPolitics:

— In this week’s , Gov. Tony Evers celebrates the awarding of 31 grants into Wisconsin’s coastal communities by the Wisconsin Coastal Management Program.

The grants amount to almost $1.3 million, according to the Democratic governor, and will be used to protect areas and communities on the coast of the Great Lakes.

“Unfortunately, many of these communities have also experienced shoreline erosion, flooding, pollution, and everyday harmful effects of climate change, and more,” Evers says.

The Wisconsin Coastal Management Program is focused on working with government agencies and nonprofit organizations to protect ecological and economic resources in Wisconsin.

“Folks, Wisconsin’s Great Lakes are core to our economy, our history, our culture, and who we are as Wisconsinites,” he says.

— In this week’s , Sen. Rob Hutton celebrates the successes of the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee.

The 2024 RNC began on Monday. The event brought tens of thousands of visitors and millions of dollars in revenue to the city, and Wisconsin as a whole, according to the Brookfield Republican.

“The national spotlight provided by the RNC broadcast the best of Milwaukee and showed all the people and places that make our city great,” he says.

Hutton also highlights the notions of safety and prosperity as Republican goals for the future as the nation moves toward election season.

“Senate Republicans will continue to work hard on behalf of all Wisconsin families to strengthen our economy, and keep our communities safe and prosperous,” Hutton says.
