Gerron Jordan is the new anchor of WISN 12 News at 11 a.m. effective Monday. This expanded role for Jordan follows last year’s announcement that Diana Gutiérrez, previous anchor of the midday newscast, would be the co-anchor WISN 12 News at 10 p.m.
“Gerron has that raw talent, empathy and keen journalistic ability, which is essential at the anchor desk,” said Jan Wade, president and general manager of WISN 12. “He provides depth and perspective when covering complex news stories and has a special connection with the viewers.”
Jordan will continue to serve as co-anchor of WISN 12 News This Morning and co-anchor of the weekly public affairs show ‘UPFRONT,’ with WISN 12’s Matt Smith.
“I’m thrilled to be named anchor of WISN 12 News at 11 a.m.” Jordan said. “In addition to anchoring another hour of news and weather coverage with meteorologist Lindsey Slater, I’m looking forward to spotlighting some of the people and organizations working to make southeastern Wisconsin better through the community interviews featured on WISN 12 News at 11:00 a.m. Milwaukee has become home, and I love connecting with our viewers who depend on us every day to lead the way with important local coverage that matters to them.”
Jordan first started at WISN 12 in November 2021. Prior to that, he served as a co-anchor at WVLA/WGMB-TV in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and as a reporter for KTVI/KPLR in St. Louis, Missouri. Jordan began his career working in a variety of roles at multiple news stations across Louisiana.
