Our ideal candidate will:

  • Be a resourceful team player who is passionate about gathering and distributing news content to the viewers of Southeast Wisconsin and users of the station’s digital media.
  • Operate and maintain live equipment including microwave truck and all related news gathering equipment.
  • Working knowledge of social media platforms and ability to provide multimedia content from field.
  • Demonstrate creativity, editorial judgment, journalistic ethics and knowledge of libel laws.
  • Be a fully functioning technician or paraprofessional having greater responsibility to perform all of the standard work within the function.
  • Drive company vehicle responsibly for business purposes and have a valid driver’s license with no more than four (4) points in the past 36 months, in accordance with station policy, and proof of insurability (must carry liability limits of $100,000 per person/$300,000 per accident/$50,000 property).
  • Be able to lift and move associated heavy equipment.
  • Strong understanding of NPPA shooting styles and flexibility to work any shift, with some late notice of shift and schedule changes.

We require:

  • Associate degree or equivalent vocation/technical experience.
  • HS diploma or equivalent.
  • Specialized skill training/certification may be required.
  • Generally, 1-5 years of experience in area of responsibility.
  • Availability to work on-call when needed.
