We’re looking for someone who has the passion to pursue stories long before the competition, strive to be the lead every night (both on-air and online) and communicate with compelling writing and on-air performance. RESPONSIBILITIES: The world of TV News has evolved, so the successful candidate for this position must be well-versed in all aspects of today’s reporting landscape, from shooting and editing with state-of-the-art HD equipment, to online postings, to working sources and of course being ready for whatever else is about to happen next in our business.

QUALIFICATIONS: You must be a reporter as eager to break stories on the web and digital platforms as well as on television news. Live reporting skills are a must! You need at least two years experience. Link us up with your most recent work – all of it being material you shot and edited yourself – and tell us how you think, how you work. You know the drill. If you can’t work in a team environment or you like getting your story ideas from the newspaper or assignment desk don’t bother.

Weekend Anchor/Multimedia Journalist

WQOW, the Emmy-award-winning ABC affiliate in Eau Claire, WI, is looking for a talented journalist who can produce and anchor our three weekend newscasts and be our lead reporter three days a week. This is not an entry-level position. We need someone who has great news judgment, good on-air skills and leadership ability. You’ll oversee our newsroom on the weekends, deciding coverage, updating our website and social media platforms as well as producing and anchoring the evening newscasts. Familiarity with Avid, iNews and Wisconsin news is a plus.

WQOW News 18, Emmy-award-winning ABC affiliate in Eau Claire, WI, is seeking an experienced Anchor-Producer for our weekday evening newscasts. This is not an entry level position and requires experience in anchoring and producing. The person we seek has deep interest in and knowledge of issues that are important to our Wisconsin viewers. In addition to producing and co-anchoring our evening newscasts, you’ll produce compelling stories that connect with viewers. The right candidate must have strong news judgment, be an excellent writer, and capable of being a mentor to multi-media journalists. Candidate needs to be motivated to investigate and follow local issues and must love telling stories that engage viewers. In exchange, we’ll give you the coaching and training you need to improve your skills. Candidate should be willing to make a commitment to the community through public appearances, volunteering, emceeing, etc.
