Countdown to All-Digital TV Broadcasting

Many radio and TV stations in Wisconsin are now broadcasting in digital. This website, a public service of the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association, was designed to help you better understand HD Radio and HDTV. To enjoy all the benefits of digital broadcasting you need to be ready.

February 17, 2009 is the day all TV stations will stop broadcasting an analog signal. This is the day broadcasters are required, by the federal government, to stop broadcasting in analog which is the regular TV you are watching today. To watch TV you will need one of the new HDTV sets or use a special converter box which will allow your analog TV to continue working. You may learn more about digital TV by clicking here.

To listen to radio in digital you will need to purchase one of the new HD Radio sets or purchase an HD Radio converter. You may learn more about HD Radio by clicking here.

Your local library is a good resource for more information on the conversion to HD Radio and HDTV. Find your nearest public library by clicking here.
