Walker Broadcast Management Institute
Adds 7 More Graduates
|
|
|
Also Held 3rd Annual Graduate School Session
|
|
|
|
The 2007 WBA Foundation Management Institute, held May 15-17, was a hit
with 27 broadcasters taking part. An additional 10 broadcasters attended
the 3rd Annual Graduate School Session. The Institute - the first of its
kind sponsored by a state broadcasters association organization, was
again, for the 10th year in a row, held on the campus of the University
of Wisconsin-Madison in conjunction with the UW School of Business. We
were thrilled this year to have 7 more graduates from the 3-year module,
bringing our total number of graduates up to 48. |

|
|
The 3rd Annual Graduate School Session was held this
year for past attendees who have graduated after completing the
Management Institute’s 3-year cycle. It was held on Wednesday afternoon,
concurrent with the Institute sessions. The Graduate School sessions
featured “A Wisconsin Economic Outlook” by Professor Don Nichols from
The La Follette Institute at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and
“What Sticks” by Greg Stuart, Advertising and Marketing Pro. This year’s
3-day Management Institute spent full days on the following topics:
Financial Management For Broadcasters, Creating Strategic Thinking To
Get Results, and High Performance Team Building. |

|
We would like to extend our deepest appreciation
to the estate of William R. Walker which graciously donated funds to
endow the WBA Foundation Management Institute. The gift is the largest
single contribution ever received by the Foundation.
