Job/Career Fair and EEO Session

WEDNESDAY, JUNE 20
1:00 P.M. - 3:00 P.M.
Stone Harbor Resort, Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin

In accordance with the WBA’s Assistance Action Plan For EEO Compliance, we will be holding a job/career fair in conjunction with our Winter Conference on Wednesday, June 18 from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. (Set-up will begin at Noon) One of the menu option initiatives under the FCC’s Outreach Prong 3 is “participation in at least four job fairs or careers fairs by personnel who have substantial responsibility in the making of hiring decisions.” Full SEU participation in each job/career fair should earn the SEU a 1/4 credit. Accordingly, over a 2-year period of participating in these WBA sponsored job/career fairs, and SEU should earn a full credit.

EEO Session

“DISCRIMINATION LAW FOR BROADCASTERS: LEGAL ISSUES AND EFFECTIVE STRATEGIES TO PREVENT UNLAWFUL DISCRIMINATION - PART 2"
Your WBA has created yet another way for your station to gain EEO credit! We’ve added another WBA EEO Menu Option Initiative which can help you, our members, fulfill your EEO requirements as part of the WBA Assistance Action Plan For EEO Compliance.

The FCC will give an SEU a full menu option credit for participating in a program for station management that will teach them how to ensure Equal Employment Opportunity and prevent unlawful discrimination. We, your WBA, offer this training program 4 times over a two year period. The seminar is held in conjunction with our Winter and Summer Conferences - similar to how we do our Job/Career Fairs. If a station routinely sends its management to these courses, by the end of the segment (two year period), the SEU will claim one full menu option credit for that two year period.

Please note - these four seminars are each on different discrimination topics, so an SEU needs to have someone from management in attendance at all four sessions to get the full menu option credit.

FYI - an SEU is typically a group of stations that are commonly owned or controlled, located in the same market and sharing at least one employee. An SEU can be one station, two stations, a mix of several AM and FM stations, or a mix of radio and TV stations.

MAKE SURE TO HAVE SOMEONE FROM YOUR MANAGEMENT IN ATTENDANCE FOR THIS WORTHWHILE SEMINAR!

To receive your EEO credit sign in at session is required!
